synopsis

An access-driven, cinema verité documentary that captures the inner workings of the office of Kathleen Wynne, the Premier of Ontario and one of the most powerful political leaders in the world. The filmmakers were granted unprecedented, exclusive access to film inside the halls of power and document the political process over a 10-week period leading to the creation of a much-anticipated provincial budget.

This is a transformative time in the political life of Ontario. Premier Kathleen Wynne is the first openly gay person to be elected as Head of Government anywhere in the English-speaking world. Our cameras go inside political strategy meetings while she struggles to deliver on ambitious campaign promises, while maintaining her stated commitment to government transparency.

The filmmakers chronicle the many unpredictable issues, crises and opportunities that arise on a daily and hourly basis, providing audiences with a never-before-seen perspective on the inner workings of the political process.

“IN THIS EXCELLENT, SHORT CINÉMA-VÉRITÉ CHRONICLE, PEOPLE IN POLITICS REVEAL THEMSELVES WITH STRIKING FRANKNESS.”
